My name is Anshuman Bhartiya. I graduated with Bachelors in Computer Science and Engineering from Dehradun Institute of Technology, India in 2008. I then came to the United States to pursue my dream for higher education. I graduated with Masters in Computer Science with Information Assurance as my concentration stream from Arizona State University  in 2010.

I am currently working as a Principal Security Engineer with EMC Corp based out of Hopkinton, MA. While I was a student at ASU, I worked in several departments as a Web Applications developer. As soon as I graduated, I got a full time job and started working as a Cloud Services Technical Consultant with a global software company Axway in Phoenix, AZ. After that, I worked in a boutique software security firm Cigital for about a couple of years. After spending a couple of years at Cigital, I started working as a Sr. Security Engineer in EMC’s Product Security Response Center (PSRC) in the Product Security Office (PSO). PSO is responsible for the security of all the EMC products.

My current role is with the EMC Rubicon Cloud Services and I am responsible for building their Penetration Testing program and the red team.

While I was at Cigital, I performed Web Application Penetration Testing and Secure Code Reviews – using both automated tools like AppScan and manual efforts using Burp. And at Axway, I mainly dealt with hosted applications and some Systems/Infrastructure Engineering on the cloud. I love the fact that with some experience in software/web applications development, some in Systems/Network Operations coupled with the current Security stuff that I am involved with, I have a varied skill set and I can juggle myself between different tasks and love doing all of it.

I have a passion for learning new technologies and tools and implementing them in an innovative and creative way like it has never been done before. In my spare time, I like to keep myself updated with all the latest happenings on the web.

I like meeting new people and getting to know them. I love traveling. I also love watching and playing all kinds of sports. I am a very social person. Apart from my daily 9-5 job, I like to keep myself busy during the weekends with outdoor activities like camping, hiking, geocaching, bug-bounty hunting and getting involved with local meetup groups.

So, thats me in short. I’d love to hear from you as well. Please feel free to comment on my posts or email me at anshuman [dot] bhartiya [at] gmail [dot] com.
